Alu-Splint
After reconstructive or cosmetic rhinoplasty, the Alu-Splint, a self-adhesive external nasal splint made of aluminum, protects the nose from accidental trauma and prevents soft tissue edema which may dislocate the nasal bones. The Alu-Splint may be customized with scissors to the required size. It can be easily and efficiently applied to the nose.
Apply non-allergic tape to the nose to avoid direct contact of the adhesive surface to the skin. The Alu-Splint may stay in situ for 7 to 10 days after surgery. After 3 to 5 days post-operatively, after reduction of the edema, the nasal splint can be narrowed to apply further consistent pressure without loosening.
The Alu-Splint does not stick to the bridge of the nose and can be removed easily. For removal, a blunt instrument is inserted between skin and tape, loosening the nasal splint.
- Supplied non-sterile, individually pouched
